Contemporary learning environment designs bring to life schools featuring loose fitting, flexible layouts that upset the stable certainty of four-walled classroom. This article presents argument adopting a theoretical approach researching role spatiality and space in relation innovative building design education will enable insights otherwise not possible, and, process, enhance available store knowledge understanding. A review sample published research considers suggests robust approaches are eschewed favour instrumental often concerned with played by fabric or psychosocial responses surrounding environment. To adopt an alternative, perspective privileges concept ‘space’ education, it is first important understand developments spatiality. Exemplifying one such questions Lefebvre’s spatial theory applied recent development FLS ILE New Zealand, though several optional suggested as open researchers.
